Iran’s Seminary Voices Firm Support for IRGC, Condemns EU’s “Politicized and Baseless” Move

Iran’s Management Center of Islamic Seminaries has strongly condemned the European Union’s designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, describing the move as a politically motivated, legally groundless, and desperate act reflecting the failure of Western powers in confronting the logic of resistance.

In a statement carried by Hawzah News Agency, the seminary authority denounced the EU’s decision as a repetition of previous hostile measures taken by the United States, stressing that such actions reveal the strategic impotence of the global arrogance front in the face of Iran’s resilience and regional influence.

The statement emphasized that the IRGC is an integral institution born out of the 1979 Islamic Revolution and a lasting legacy of the late Imam Khomeini. It underlined that the Corps was established on the foundations of faith, sacrifice, and revolutionary commitment, and has played a decisive role in safeguarding Iran’s national security and defending the dignity of the Islamic Ummah.

According to the seminary body, the IRGC has stood on the front lines of the fight against terrorism, paying a heavy price through the sacrifice of thousands of martyrs in confronting destabilizing plots and foreign-backed militant networks across the region.

“The European Union’s attempt to label the IRGC as a terrorist organization is neither new nor credible,” the statement read, adding that such labeling is a worn-out political tactic devoid of any legal legitimacy, aimed at pressuring an institution that has consistently thwarted Western interventionist agendas.

The Management Center of Islamic Seminaries said the move clearly demonstrates the frustration and exhaustion of Western powers when faced with the discourse of resistance and independent defense capabilities. It stressed that branding legitimate defense forces as terrorists cannot alter realities on the ground nor undermine the IRGC’s standing among the Iranian people.

Reaffirming its position, the statement declared the full, unequivocal, and proud support of Iran’s seminaries for the country’s military and security forces, particularly the IRGC, its four branches, commanders, and personnel.

“The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps constitutes a firm defensive bastion for the Iranian nation and the Islamic Revolution,” the statement said. “Any attack on the IRGC is, in essence, an attack on Iran’s security, national dignity, and revolutionary identity.”

The seminary authority concluded by warning that continued hostile and legally unfounded actions by Western institutions will only deepen divisions and further expose the political nature of their claims regarding international law and counterterrorism.
